Has anyone heard of C-Asean before? Well, we have to admit that at first we didn’t know what it was either. Then on November 11, 2015, we had an opportunity to visit C-Asean for Mass Media and Society class in which we got to learn a lot about the company’s objectives and works.

For the basic information, C-Asean is own by Thai Beverage Company. C-Asean is the project that aims to enhance Thai business connectivity with that of Asean countries as Thai Beverage Company is trying to extend more of its business outwards. Therefore, from watching the introductory video and listening to Mr.Patrick Horatanachai or P'Duke, an Operation & Sales Manager of C-Asean, we understand that the company is trying to be the hub of Asean that acts to bridge the gap among people and countries in Asean. Moreover, the company promotes Asean business, arts, and cultures.

“C-Asean is actually for the new generation,” said Mr. Patrick Horatanachai, “We want to facilitate new generation people with their startups and advice them in doing business abroad. Therefore, we regularly invite CEOs from different companies to share their experiences and arrange workshops to educate people about Asean and business startups.”

There are public corners such as the library and studying room for anyone who wishes to read books and does research to come in and use the facilities provided. This corner has actually become our favorite place in C-Asean now as it’s very peaceful and full of learning environment. We even thought of studying here for our final exams.

However, after this year, C-Asean will limit the use of the library and studying room to members only. By becoming a membership of C-Asean, you could get more privileges like accessibility to the library, high speed internet, knowledge tank, and discounts on C Asean Cafe Drinks. These privileges vary from the membership fees that each person chooses to pay, from 350 baht per day to 70,000 baht per year (for more information, please visit their website www.c-asean.org

Last but not least, we really enjoy this trip and glad to know that there is a place like this to help guide us about startups and Asean businesses that could be beneficial in the future.
